Are You Grieving The Death Of A Pet?

Pittiput in windowThe grief can be overwhelming and hard to cope with, when your beloved pet dies. You are used to getting a warm welcome by your pet when you come home after being out, but when your pet has died suddenly, suddenly you are coming home to an empty house. Even if you are not alone and have a family - husband, wife, children, or even other pets - the emptiness after the loss of your animal companion is almost tangible. You feel heartbroken and it feels like part of yourself is missing.

I understand what it feels like when your pet dies. I have suffered the loss of a pet myself, a beautiful orange cat called Pittiput. And when he died, I experienced how my concern was not just "How do I cope with the grief after his death?", but it was also important to me to make sure that my deceased pet was okay in the afterlife. And I experienced how one of my other cats was grieving, missing his best friend.

Fortunately, I have a technique that I have been using for years which helped med with all these 3 problems:

  • how to cope with the grief after the death of my pet,
  • how to not just contact but also help my deceased pet in the afterlife,
  • and last but not least, how to help the other pets in the household who are grieving the loss of their animal friend.
