[Dreaming with Herbie the angel dog]

One thing that brings much comfort when your beloved pet has passed is receiving from them a personal message.


As I begin the Sacred Spirit Journey to connect with Gigi’s angel dog Herbie, I go within. Into my heart center where there is peace, stillness, and light. I feel gratitude and say Thank You silently for being in and experiencing the stillness within.

As I do, small flowers in all colors begin to manifest all around me. So much beauty.

I think of Herbie and feel I am transported to a beautiful meadow filled with flowers. It feels and looks like the French countryside. My eyes are drawn to a frangrant lavender nearby. Herbie is sitting next to the lavender, he greets me and asks me to pick a small bouquet of the lavender flowers for Gigi.

“We are going to meet her now”, Herbie says with intention, and starts walking through the meadow. I follow with the flowers.

“Why are we here in this landscape”, I wonder.

Herbie says:

“It is a dream. We’re giving Gigi a dream. I like nothing better than bringing her joy and to show her beautiful things. She is my heart’s light and love.”

We get to one of those typical French country houses. There s a low stone wall, and on the inside of the wall, fragrant sage is growing.

We walk towards the house and into the garden. In the middle of the garden is a very tall blossoming sunflower growing.

Herbie says:

“Do like the sunflower: Turn your face towards the sun.”

“I do that”, I hear a friendly and smiling voice say. It is Gigi who is here, waiting for us.

Gigi continues:

“I figured it was you. I love going on adventures with you, Herbie, for with you I can feel at home. In my imagination, we can go anywhere. As long as I’m with you, I am happy.”

Herbie says:

“Me too. Remember I am never far away. Just set the intention to connect with me, and I am with you, or I will lead you to me. Allow yourself to dream, and you will see.”

Herbie looks at me, and I hand Gigi the bouquet of the lavender flowers, and say: “They are from Herbie.” Gigi says thanks and takes the beautiful bouquet and smells it: “Thank you, Herbie, for this beautiful dream and gift.”

In a little shady corner is a small pond. As we approach it, we see a little frog sitting on a stone by the water.

“Make a wish”, Herbie says to Gigi, “and keep it in your heart.” Gigi makes a silent wish.

The frog makes a loud croaking sound and hops down in the water.

Close to the house is a beautiful big pink rose bush.

“Ah, this is the peace”, Gigi says and sits down by a little table next to the rose. I sit down too, and Herbie jumps up on Gigi’s lap.

She holds him close and kisses him. “I’m so glad to see you, Herbie.”

Herbie settles down on Gigi’s lap, and we sit, looking out over the landscape, watching the nature, flowers, listening to the bird and insect sounds. Some refreshments are on the table for us.

It is such a peaceful, wonderful day.

It is late afternoon now, and the sun is getting less intense.

Herbie says to Gigi:

You wanted to know if I am happy. Yes, I am. I am doing well and I am happy. Especially when I send you signs and blessings or stay near you. Our souls’ bond goes beyond this lifetime, and they will travel together and join in lifetimes to come. If you see with your heart, you can always recognize me.

For now, it is about dreaming, being, and finding peace in the present moment. Releasing all worries and resting in the Now.

Find the stillness in your heart, explore your heart’s landscape, and find me there, for I belong in your heart. The most beautiful place I know.
Take good care of yourself, and find joy in revisiting fond memories from our time together.

Bring flowers into your life and let their beauty remind you of the beauty of our love and bond. Surround yourself with things that beautify your life. Connect with animals that bring you joy.

Don’t be afraid to give your love to other animals, for what we have, you and I, can never be taken away. Your capacity to love is infinite. The more you share love, the more your have to share.

Take care of your beautiful heart and know I am by your side, loving you always.

Gigi sighs deeply, moved by his touching message.

The sun is now low. It will soon be getting dark.

Herbie tells Gigi to take the little lantern that stands next to her, light it and bring it back. It will light the way.

“I’m ready”, Gigi says, holding the flowers and the lantern.

“Just follow me”, we hear a little voice say. It is the frog. It hops before Gigi, and she follows.

“See you later, my friends”, Gigi says.

“Indeed”, Herbie says. “See you for sure.”

As Gigi looks at Herbie, after saying goodbye to him, a star shines on him, so he is lit up with the most beautiful light. Herbie becomes light, and travels with the light to the Big Light.

“Thank you, Herbie,” Gigi says. I also thank Herbie.

I say goodbye to Gigi, who walks home with her frog friend and her gifts. She is at peace.

It has been an interesting day.

I ask my spirit guide if there is anything else we need to do.

My spirit guide says: “No, Gigi’s heart is full now with dreams and with love. Herbie might be small in size, but his heart is big, his light is beautiful, and his soul pure and good. She was truly blessed the day she met him.”

I give thanks and end the journey.
