One of the practices I have found to be very helpful and healing after the loss of a beloved pet is the practice of gratitude. The practice of gratitude will allow you to experience grief without being stuck in the pain, and ease you into a state of peace where you will remember your beloved pet with fondness. Practicing gratitude is also a powerful way of learning to become present in and appreciate your life as it is right now, as you become aware of how much you have grown and learned from your animal companion.
