“Sometimes words aren’t necessary, and the most powerful healing and memorable moments often take place in silence.” – Kia
Losing a beloved pet is very painful, but fortunately there are several ways to get comfort and healing when your animal companion is gone. One very efficient way to get comfort and peace of mind is to contact the deceased pet in the afterlife, for instance through meditation, shamanic journeying or animal communication.
In the following I will share a healing meeting I had with my cat Kia on July 11, 2012, 10 days after she died. I hope that it will bring you healing and inspiration.
I first set the intention to meet Kia and to get healing for us both, and do my preparations for the meeting.
I find myself at a beach with my spirit helpers. Behind me are trees. Kia approaches from the right and sits down next to me.
“So we’re on a beach today”, Kia says and looks around, sniffing the sea air.
My spirit helper says:
“You both needed healing, so I figured a trip to the beach would do you good.”
He then passes around some of his special healing water and we all drink.
We then lie down in the sand, looking at the sky and listening to the waves. The sun is setting, and the sky turns red, orange, yellow, and many more colors I can’t even describe. As the sun sets, a peace washes in over all of us as we rest. I doze off with Kia resting her head on my right arm, her head close to mine. She sighs deeply, and I listen to her familiar breathing. She’s where she belongs.
The next thing I know is waking up to the sound of waves and the fresh sea air on my face. It’s morning now. I take a deep breath and feel refreshed. Kia is sitting next to me. She looks at me with infinite love in her eyes.
Then Kia says: “Sometimes words aren’t necessary, and the most powerful healing and memorable moments often take place in silence. Stillness without and within brings peace and healing. This time we’ve spent here in silence together will not only heal; it will stay with you forever and bring you healing and peace when you bring up the image in your mind. Creating an image you can look at (like fx drawing) would also be helpful.”
She gently rubs her face against me before she leaves.
I thank her and my spirit helpers and end the journey.

What can you create – such as a drawing, a poem, a piece of art or a song perhaps – that can be a physical representation of a fond memory or a special feeling or experience you had with your pet?
