My kitty died on 6/25/16. Puddy was only 5 years old and lost his short battle with diabetes which he was diagnosed with on 4/27. I know everyone believes their per is special but you see Puddy we’d truly special. He was a beautiful sphynx and my emotional therapy kitty. Unfortunately, I have struggled with a chronic painful stomach illness, gastroparesis, since 2013. Shortly after losing my job, many friends and even family plus facing daily pain/nausea/fatigue due to this illness I began to struggle with severe depression. When I hurt, puddy was by my side. When I was contemplating ending everything several times, puddy was there. When I was severely depressed, puddy was there. He slept every night touching me and curled up on my chest every morning, when the pain is the worst, for kisses and love. He was the only thing to bring me peace. I can’t make peace with his death when I can’t even make peace with this so called life. I won’t be able to seek help as I have no income but I hope through some kindness I can know he is ok…pain free and at peace. He was my guardian angel…he was my peace. .he was my heart. Without him I face only darkness, dispair and isolation. I love you puddy…always♡
Dear Julliet, My sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved cat Puddy. My heart goes out to you in your time of grief. Puddy sounds like a most wonderful and trusted friend and companion, providing you with support when you most needed it. I hope the offerings on this website can bring you some peace. You can for example listen to the Healing Pet Loss Podcast and try the Easy Exercise to Connect with your Pet in the Afterlife. Reading the book and doing the exercises in it has also been helpful to many. Blessings and peace to you both, Marianne Soucy
I am trying to connect with my 13 year old cat Tango to see if she wants me to put her through lung surgery and I cannot get any clarity. This is tearing me apart as I want to do what is best for her. Any suggestions on how to connect with her so I can follow her lead?
Dear Ter, My thoughts are with you and Tango in this difficult time you’re going through. You’ll find some tips both in my book and in the free ebook here on the website. It certainly is a challenging decision, and what we need to do in those cases is to get the diagnosis and opinion of the vet, look at and evaluate the state of our animal friend’s behavior and stay open to the signs they send us. List the pros and cons of surgery vs not surgery. Try and determine how each will affect her. If you want to hear Tango’s opinion, you can always consider one of my Sacred Spirit Journeys – but eventually, it will still be you who need to make the decision however hard that is. Much love and peace to you both. Marianne
