As I was out in the garden one morning with one of my cats, Kia when she was still alive, I noticed that the sun was just hitting a garden chair where Pittiput used to sit sometimes. Pittiput is my orange cat who died June 17th 2010, and he occasionally comes in spirit to say hello or to give advice. I got an image of him in spirit sitting in the chair in the sun, so I decided to ask him, what advice he had for people whose pet has died. Here’s some of what he said:
“When you have lost your pet, you tend to stay in the darkness, seeing only the grief and the separation, but that only keeps you in the pain, it keeps you in the grief and prevents you from connecting with your deceased animal companion, who is just waiting on the other side for you to open up to him, to receive his message, his message of love. Instead, stay in the sun, stay in the light – the inner and the outer light. Let that light enfold you, bathe in it, and you will see that the pet you have lost will come to you with a message of love and that there is no separation. Love is not about just the physical; love is way more than that; it’s beyond life and death.”
I hope these words will comfort and inspire you in the midst of your grieving.
