Help for you to achieve inner peace when your pet is dying and after your pet has died

Inner Peace Meditation

Losing your beloved pet is one of the toughest things you can experience as a pet owner.

Your pet is part of your family, and may also be your best friend. Your pet is the one who loves you unconditionally, never judges you and is always there for you. The bond between you and your beloved animal companion is a bond like no other.

So losing that very special friend and companion feels like losing part of yourself and can be extremely difficult to handle.

The benefits of meditation in connection with pet loss

The benefits of meditation have long been well known. Meditation is a simple way to balance your physical, emotional and mental state, and numerous studies have shown how meditation can help you be more calm, have better concentration, and feel more at peace. Meditation has also been shown to help with sleeplessness.

In connection with pet loss, meditation can be very helpful and can be used both when your pet is dying, and after your pet has died.

1)  When your pet is dying

Watching your beloved pet’s health fail and realizing that your time together with your best friend will soon come to an end is heartbreaking, and  it is bound to strongly affect you, physically, emotionally and mentally. It can be difficult to sleep because you worry about your pet. Feelings like grief, anger, sadness, despair and many more can overwhelm you.To help you be fully in the moment no matter whatever happens, with a clear mind and at least a degree of calm and balance, meditation can be very helpful. If you are not doing some kind of meditation or deep relaxation on a daily basis, now is a good time to start. Taking time to do a little daily meditation when your pet is dying can help you get calm and centered, so you can

  • be there for your pet when he or she needs you the most, and
  • so you can you can make decisions about your pet’s end of life that you can live with for the rest of your life without being tormented by guilt and regret.

2)  After your beloved pet has died

When your animal companion and very special friend is gone, it feels like the whole world is crashing down around you. The emptiness can be unbearable, and you might be crying a lot. You might feel lost, confused, and overwhelmed by feelings of grief, guilt and sadness. It’s hard to imagine you can ever feel peace, joy or contentment again when your pet is not with you anymore.

If you are grieving the death of a pet and you don’t take any steps to handle and cope with the grief, then you are likely to prolong those feelings. You might be stuck in

  •  guilt, sadness, anger, depression, helplessness

longer than you need to.

But if, on the other hand, you take the right steps to cope with and handle the grief after pet loss, you will move much more quickly move through the grief and arrive at a state of

  •  forgiveness, gratitude, contentment and inner peace

while never – ever – forgetting your pet. You will feel inner peace while remembering your pet with love and gratitude.
