I often turn to my spirit guides in Sacred Spirit Journeys for wisdom and insights – on behalf of myself as well as for clients. Many of the articles on this website contain messages from animals in the afterlife, but in this message from my spirit guide, he reveals some deeper insights on the eternal nature of us humans and of our pets.
As I begin the journey, the phrase “The eternal Now”, comes to me.
My spirit guide, who is with me, says:
“That could have been the title too. The general view on death is based on the belief that time exists. When you take the perspective that past, present, and future are separate, then separation, loss and death exist. But when you realize that the present moment is all there is, then you also realize that what you saw as past is also contained in the Now.”
Marianne: “At some level it really makes sense, but it’s still hard to grasp and think about when you for example have lost a beloved pet. Have you any suggestions for helping people realize that while their animal friend’s body is gone their spirit is eternal and still available to them?”
My spirit guide says:
“To understand that, we need to take steps to see beyond the body. For although most people identify with their body, that’s not really who they are at the deepest level.
One way they can get a glimpse or an experience of the continued presence of their pet that has pass, is by asking for and paying attention to signs and synchronicities.
Pets often continue to show or reach out with their undying love to their humans after they have died, so when you’re deep in grief, know that love and support is on the way to you from your animal in the afterlife; and notice the little signs that you know in your heart are from your loved one. Trust your heart and don’t let the doubts of your mind take over. Open up to the possibility that your pet’s spirit is safe and near, and open up to the love they are still sending you.
Study nature for insights into the cycle of life and death – of endings and new beginnings.
After each night, there is a sunrise – the dawning of a new day.
The seasons change – continuing in their everlasting cycle of death and rebirth.
The physical body – of you, your pet, of all – will pass, but the essence of each, the spirit and the love and light which is your original nature is eternal.
To connect with that eternal love, go within your heart for that is where you’ll find the light and love of the animal that has left behind their physical body and that is now shining their bright light in spirit.
Death is not the end, and love is all there is.”
I thank my spirit guide and end the journey.

A note from Marianne:
This blog was inspired by chapter 26: “Oh death” in Cheryl Bridges’ book “Creative Self-Love“, available on Amazon.
The other blog post I wrote in this article series is a new take on or reframe of the Cinderella story! It’s about empowerment and how Cinderella can teach you how to find your own voice. You can read the Cinderella blog here.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary digital copy of Cheryl Bridge’s book “Me, Myself, & I ~ 28 Days of Creative Self-Love”. My opinion and my inner wisdom are authentic and 100% my own.
this is so comforting thank you Marianne. Losing a pet is like losing a child so it’s wonderful to have supportive words to nurture the pain xx
