Words of comfort from a dog in the afterlife

Pet afterlife message - an angel dog's message of love

Rex’ loving message of light for his human companion

On Christmas Eve I was honored to connect with the spirit of a beautiful dog on behalf of his grieving human companion. Rex had died suddenly a couple of weeks earlier, and his human companion, Gregory, had contacted me to connect with the spirit of his beloved dog.

I have the pleasure of sharing Rex’ wise and loving message in this article, so that his words may ease the pain of others who are struggling with the grief after losing their own animal friend.

A spirit journey to meet the angel dog Rex

As I begin the Sacred Spirit Journey to connect with the angel dog Rex, I already feel him close by. He says:

“It’s not a coincidence, you know, that tonight – on the night of the Star – that I am bringing my message and my gift of love and light to Gregory. I know he will appreciate that. He sees the light and the angel that I am, and tonight I will shine brightly among all the stars that are shining in the sky.”

I am his little star and heart-opener, a portal to the light.”

It’s the light of the heart that I have assisted him in connecting with and being guided by in his life; and don’t worry: just because I am not in my physical body anymore, it doesn’t mean I’m not there for him anymore.

Gently let go of the pain of the sudden loss and open to the love and light I send you with the stars tonight. That was always my purpose: to help you see beyond and find the light in the heart which is your greatest treasure.

Angel dog Rex GG quote - Healing Pet Loss Marianne Soucy

Go within your heart to find me there always – or simply look out on the starlit sky and see me shining my light and my blessings on you from above.

In the humblest of beings is often hidden the greatest light. You recognized that and were blessed. Know that you are blessed and loved and always guided by the light that you have always sought. It’s never far, but always near. Rest in peace and let my love comfort and ease your grieving heart.

Together we will shine our lights brightly for others to follow and ease their walk through life. You’re not alone on this mission. I’m always by your side.

Blessings.”

Marianne: “Thank you so much, Rex. That was very wise, and beautiful. Anything else Gregory needs to know or do?” Rex: “Look above and see the light that’s already in your heart.”

Marianne: “That’s beautiful. Do we need to have that elaborated?”

Rex smiles, “No. Gregory will know. That will give him something to contemplate.”

I thank Rex and he seems to turn into light, and disappears up in the sky among the other stars.

I thank my spirit guide and end the journey.

Gregory found much comfort in Rex’ message, and also experienced some beautiful synchronicities in connection with this journey.

For your inspiration, I will end with a message from Gregory and shared here with his permission.

“Dear Marianne,

Your message today is especially relevant. I thought I would tell you about an experience from last Saturday night. You are welcome to share this with others if it may be of service.

I got together with a friend for dinner and a movie. We don’t see each other that often, but I always respond to his heart felt presence. He is a very loving guy. And he is a dog lover and knows from his own loss the poignancy of grief when a pet has crossed over. It wasn’t what he said exactly, but the way he held me emotionally and spiritually that felt so deeply comforting and nourishing. Many of my friends have been kind during my grief. But this man’s deep acceptance born out of his own experience was remarkable. He understood the depth of what I was feeling and did not think I should be over it yet, even if it is going on two months since Rex died. So we had a pleasant evening with good food and an excellent movie, all of which was emotionally rich; we had tearful moments and times of joyful giggles.

The next morning, quite early, I had an experience of what I would call a visitation from Rex. Most would call it a dream, I suppose, but for me the state of consciousness I was in had a different quality than most of my dreams. There was a purity and lucidity about it.

There were no words or telepathic communications per se. I saw myself coming home, and there was Rex lying close to the front door. When I saw him I knew he was in spirit form, that his physical body was dead, but he was very much there with me. I filled with joy to see him and felt immense gratitude for his being with me. Then we curled up together as we used to when he was here in body. I placed my arms around him and we drifted off into deep peace. The sense of this physical connection lasted quite a while. Eventually I did fall asleep. When I awoke I felt Rex had truly come to comfort me and that the visit with my human friend the night before had been a prelude, an opening to the visit. The peace and nourishment of this encounter have stayed with me now for two days. I am very grateful.

Once again, thank you for the comfort you have brought into my life.

Best,
Gregory G.”

It’s astounding to me what connection we continue to have with our spirit animals. My beloved Maverick visits me often. I see and hear him easily, but don’t have the gift you do with other’s animals. I believe my youngest daughter does, and she’s learning to cultivate it.

Thanks for sharing this lovely story!
