[Selected angel cat Starlight letters after his passing] In this blog and podcast I will share selected letters from my angel cat Starlight from the first few months after his passing on January 27th, 2025. The letters range from 3 February 3rd, to May 1st 2025.


My reason for sharing these letters are 3-fold:

• They show how you can connect with your own pet using the simple Healing Pet Loss 2-Letter Writing Technique

• They show the power of connecting regularly (at least for a period) and how the connection between me and Starlight deepens, and healing takes place.

• I also wanted to stress the importance of following your intuition. I usually do Sacred Spirit Journeys to connect with pets after they have passed for deep healing, but Starlight being Starlight, I felt it was important to connect with him often and regularly, even if only via short letters. Making a brief connection 2-3 times a week was very important to both Starlight and myself during this challenging period.

I will let the letters speak for themselves.

My dearest Starlight,

It is with much love and gratitude I write to you to tell you I love you and miss you more than you can ever know. Hope [a cat we have that Starlight was very close to] misses you too – very much. It is incredibly empty without you. My heart feels empty and broken without you.

I am so sorry for the challenges you had to go through on your last day. I hope that my efforts to comfort you helped a little. Please let me know how you are doing.

Thank you for the nice and comforting message you sent via the Messages from Heaven cards.

Dear Marianne,

Finally a chance to reach out directly. Like having a conversation. I would love if you do so more often.

I am at peace and have no pain, but I miss you all.

I know that things happen for a reason, but my heart was not ready to leave you, and I miss you. Therefore I am hanging around a lot, because by your side is where my true home is.

I am not alone and I am well cared for, so I am fine.

Take good care of Hope. I miss her too, and I know she is a little lost without me. We were never apart, so the adjustment is not easy.

I trust with time that healing will come. It has, in a way, but I do feel my home is as much home in the Light as with you.

I so appreciate your comfort and presence during the last day when my body’s decline went so fast and scared me.

In hindsight, I am grateful it wasn’t prolonged and more painful, and also that it wasn’t sudden and instant.

We had a little time to connect before I took the leap. Thank you for the comfort. I will never forget that.

Please bring my eternal love and gratitude to L and Hope. My heart aches for them too.

Dear Marianne,

I am near, so I feel and experience your efforts to cope, and especially to take care of Hope. I thank you for that. I have been concerned for her, but I know she is in good hands. She is a special kitty. She put up with a lot from me, but she loved me as I am, and I loved her as I love you two – from the bottom of my heart.

Live with joy in your heart, for the earthly experience is brief.

Make the most of each day.

Love each other and forgive easily; yourself and others.

Learn from what you live through, and strive to live your soul’s purpose.

You helped me a lot, and I hope you feel that I helped you too.

Intention to connect with Starlight during yoga.

Feel drawn to my heart center. In my heart center, a light is lit, and as I enter, Starlight comes too.

He is happy to see me (and I him). From there, he goes over to L’s heart, and says to L:

“Your heart needs me.”

Then Starlight goes to Hope who is in the bedroom and lies down besides her.

They rest together for quite a while.

An angel is standing in a corner of the room.

It is a beautiful connection they have. Healing. They know that they can reconnect.

As it is time for Starlight to leave, my angel cat Little Dab comes with her stillness and fragrant roses. She and the angel accompany Starlight back to the Light.

Starlight leaves behind a white feather and small rainbows all over the bedroom. Hope is more peaceful afterwards.

Dear Starlight,

I hope you are doing well.

Are you adjusting? What are you doing, and what is it like there? I am curious to hear.

We are trying to get used to the emptiness without you, but it is not easy. Hope is managing, but she clearly misses you, especially when she goes to bed at night.

Dear Marianne,

I love getting letters from you. It warms my heart that you care and reach out to me.

I am doing okay. The best part is that the earthly / physical problems with my body don’t exist, so I am healthy and strong. It is a nice feeling.

I have been resting a lot, and also checking out things, and said hello to and spent time with the other [angel] kitties, who send their love to you both.

Time doesn’t exist like in physical form, so here we are even more in the Now. It is easy to be at peace, for there are no worries.

I feel more and more your love inside me in a permanent way, so even though I miss you, it is less painful, and less a painful yearning, but rather a joyful anticipatory feeling to think of you and seek you out.

Stay in touch. I will keep sending little signs to you.

My dearest Starlight,

The sun was shining today, and that was wonderful, even though it was very cold.

I was thinking about how you would have loved to lie in the sun.

We are trying to take more and extra good care of Hope. She is seeking us out more, and also playing some. But she clearly misses you – as we do.

How are things with you?

Dearest Marianne,

Oh, the sunlight. I am so glad you finally got some sunlight. There wasn’t much of that the last month before my passing.

The weather is great here. Truly wonderful. You would love it.

We are all here, and everyone says hello. We play a lot, hang out, and rest. Thinking about you often and visiting too. There’s no rush with anything , for time is not like on Earth.

Here is only the present moment – the everlasting present. When you surrender, it is bliss.

I will hold you both in my love and in my prayers.

All will be well for you, so don’t worry. Life is too short for worries, so live, love, and laugh.

Dear Starlight,

It is still hard to understand that you are not here physically anymore. I am so used to seeing you – so beautiful – sleeping on the bed or the chair, asking to go outside, or coming by me when I sit in the yoga room.

Your presence was such a strong and significant part of our life and in the house – that the emptiness is felt extra strongly.

I am so sorry for the times I wasn’t patient enough, for not accepting you sooner for who you were and are.

Tough traits as well as gentle, loving traits. I am just so grateful that I during the last years really got to see, accept, know and appreciate you and develop a close bond with you.

I really appreciated our walks.

Thank you for showing me your Divine self in a journey. I will never forget that.

With all that you are, I love you, now and forever.

Dear Marianne,

Thank you for your letters.

Memories – we have a lot of them, don’t we? The good, the bad, and the ugly. We take it all and make it ours. We are all of it, and love each other for it, for we see each other’s soul, heart and Divine self, which makes it easy to accept the fullness of who you yourself and the other one is. My physical self had issues, but in spirit, the love, kindness, and compassion have emerged, for all past trauma is gone, and my Divine self is in charge. The Divine self is who I am at the core. It it’s the same with you. The essence of who we are is pure beauty, love and light – beyond description. Thank you for being part of my life – on Earth and in spirit.

My dearest Starlight,

I think of you often and send you a blessing and all my love.

I miss your presence, your amazing beauty, your eyes looking up at me, your gentle tap, your call to go outside, and how you plopped down to settle against my legs as we were lying on the bed. So much about you I treasure and deeply miss.

The emptiness is tough and very tangible.

I so hope that others where you are, are able to benefit from and experience your unique sweet soul.

I know we had challenges, but seeing the big picture, I gladly accept it all, for in my heart I love you so.

Thank you so much for your little letters. I really do appreciate them. They make me feel close to you, as part of the family still.

I do visit you, and I love to stay near.

I am impressed how you keep pushing through the challenges. Never give up. You are awesome, both of you.

Don’t forget to live and play. To laugh and have fun. To choose joy. To speak and seek what you want and need. To live in the here and Now.

And never forget that you are loved – so much. By all of us.

I have been hanging around you, and I have been with the old gang up here. I am still adjusting and like to have them close. They are good friends. Don’t worry about me. I am fine.

I intend to connect with Starlight and feel drawn to my heart center. In there, I see him lying, stretching comfortably in the sunlight in a nature landscape.

He looks happy and seems to beam at me as I meet him.

I smile and say hi, and Starlight says:

“There you are,” and rolls over so his tummy shows.

“Come join me,” he smiles.

I sit by him and touch him. I say: “How are you, my friend. You look very good and happy.”

Starlight says:

“I am happy. I am healthy, strong, held in Divine Love; and on a spirit/soul level, I feel you all so close. Tell the others.

Don’t worry; be happy. That what’s it’s all about, isn’t it. Even in the midst of challenges, you can feel happiness, joy, and that deep inner peace that connects you with or is the Divine, for the Divine lives in you.

Tell Hope that I love her, and L too. You all have a place in my heart, now and forever.

Take the peace and joy you found here and bring it home with you. It is gift from me.

Dear Marianne,

Our connection has also become important to me. It all started when you first saw my soul in a journey; when you saw past my ‘issues’ and saw the Divine in me.

I saw the Divine in you too. I saw your heart.

Thanks for being patient with me, for never giving up. I know I was a challenge, but a cute one, right?

I’m good here. I also visit you. I check on you in the house, and on Hope. I’m glad she is doing okay. I love her too.

I also visit the garden. I loved our walks. Just being out there, sniffing, experiencing it all. I do it too here, except the physical isn’t there, only the spiritual.

Treasure each moment you are alive. You don’t truly appreciate it till it’s gone.

Live now, fully. From your heart and soul. Connect with the Earth and all its beings. Smell, feel, touch. Enjoy life.

Life is good, if you let it.

Dearest magical Marianne,

Sending you greetings from the magical realm of infinite possibilities. Here we don’t have (but sometimes miss) the physical, but we do have the infinite, Divine Spirit and access to the source of creation and manifestation, joy, peace, light, love. You do too – but here’s it’s much easier.

When you align with me, you also align with the Divine, because you have to rise above, ascend to communicate on this spirit level. Use that state and connection to dream your beautiful dreams and dare take steps each day to live and manifest it. I know you can do it. I have faith in you.

My dear Marianne and L,

I was thinking of both of you, of how much I love you and appreciate you.

I think of lying in the sunlight near you. I think of love, of just being with those I love.

My heart overflows and runs to you, embracing you all with Divine Light and Peace.

It is impressive and commendable that you keep going on, keep fighting when challenges come your way.

Things are easing up now. Like a ship, ride the waves of life. The calm center is within you. Waves come and go. Make peace with the sea. Make peace with life. Center in the Divine Peace you find within.

I hope these short letters have inspired you to connect with your own pet that has passed. It’s not always long letters or journeys that are important. Sometimes it is making a regular, brief connection that brings you both comfort, healing and inspiration. Especially if you have a pet that, like Starlight in his first letter here, feels like this right after their passing:

“I know that things happen for a reason, but my heart was not ready to leave you, and I miss you.”

Ideally, a Sacred Spirit Journey done by me (or another healing and communication modality you have access to) combined with you reaching out to your pet via short regular letters, can bring you both much comfort, healing, peace, and joy. Follow your heart, and do what feels right to you.
